Alina Baraz Blesses Coda with Let’s Get Lost Tour

Concert Review, Pop, R&B

Coda gave a warm welcome to Alina Baraz for her sold-out Let’s Get Lost tour. Introduced by German-based producer IAMNOBODI, she took Philly through her debut EP Urban Flora and treated the Coda crowd to a few other surprises.

Fans strolled into the musical selection of IAMNOBODI, who started getting people in the groove with thumping bass. As the venue started to fill, he had no hesitation pulling out Kanye West’s “Fade” and DMX’s “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” to prepare showgoers for the headliner. By the conclusion of his short set, Coda was ready to cheer for Alina.

The crowd chanted Alina’s name as she walked on stage following her band. Opening with “Show Me”, the introductory song from her EP produced alongside Galimatias, the audience immediately joined her in singing every word of every song from beginning to end.

Alina’s enchanting vocals – which have granted her the enjoyment of over 70 million plays on SoundCloud alone – took us through the rest of her Urban Flora album and reminded Coda why she has received so much well-deserved attention.

The low-key lighting set a more intimate mood and drew the focus to the melodic music and alluring vocals. With the entire crowd entranced in singing along, Alina’s lyrics could be heard in every direction.

She finished off her performance with her newest hit “Electric” and stepped off the stage, much to the disappointment of her die-hard fans. Fortunately, she wasn’t done just yet – for her encore, she came back to the stage with a mic in her hand and treated Coda to her yet-to-be released track “Let’s Get Lost”. Alina closed out her performance with “Fantasy”, which everyone was eager to hear after realizing she skipped it during her main performance.

Throughout the night, every bit of Alina’s performance reminded the crowd exactly why her tour sold out. With just under three weeks left in her tour, there are only a few opportunities left to see her live.
