Fresh off the release of his Kindred Spirits Fall Tour dates, Jai Wolf has exploded onto the BBC 1xtra airwaves with his Diplo & Friends mix. A spot on Diplo & Friends is no small feat; those appearing on the show share the same airwaves that have been graced by legends such as Baauer, Zeds Dead, and Avicii. However, after listening to this mix, there’s no doubt in my mind that Jai Wolf rose to the occasion and is on his way to one day fitting right in amongst those legendary names.
Jai Wolf’s sound is a medley of influence, purpose and talent. Artists that come mind while listening to this mix include Porter Robinson, Odesza, Flume, among others. His ability to weave dreamy melodies into top notch production can only get an artist so far. Luckily, he has his own personally crafted approach to music where he creates sounds which are entirely his own. He takes the typical track much deeper, adding layer after layer of the smallest yet most important details that take his sound to the next level. This is insanely evident in his remixes and edits throughout his Diplo & Friends mix, such as his mashup of KRNE vs. Kanye West vs. Kitty – I’ll Be Good vs. I Love Kanye vs. Miss U, his Suken vs. Kiiara – Oneiric vs. Feels and Goldchain vs. Travis Scott – No Sleeping Now vs. Antidote edits and his remix AND VIP of Kiiara’s “Feels”. His incredible track selection that highlights his favorite characteristics of music adds yet another layer of goodness to the name “Jai Wolf”, and we here at The Musies are beyond stoked to see what he has in store for the Union Transfer this coming December.
Catch Jai Wolf at Union Transfer on December 9th, 2016 along with Jerry Folk and more TBA. Tickets and more info can be found here.
